Ride and make it a weekend!
Why not make a weekend out of it? Start your day with either a 6, 20, or 51-mile bicycle ride through some of the most breath-taking country side you can imagine. The ride meanders through the heart of Lancaster county offering up acres of unspoiled rolling farmland. This ride is sure to offer you a glimpse of Lancaster County farm life and the proud, hard-working families committed to Pennsylvania agriculture.

But wait, it doesn't stop there. After the perfect bicycle ride, why not take in the hundreds of designer outlets, and, not to mention, the antiques, handicrafts, roadside stands, and farmers markets that have made Lancaster county farms famous. Wrap up the day with home-grown dining options that range from Pennsylvania Dutch to contemporary gourmet. And, don't forget the local breweries and vineyards that span the county.

Gauge Your Ability

Beginner
Doesn't ride regularly, if at all. When they do ride, they avoid routes with hills and limit their distances to less than 10 miles. Beginning riders may "survive" the 51-mile loop, but the 6 or 20-mile loop is the suggested route.

Intermediate
Rides on a semi-regular basis. Has ridden or is accustomed to riding 25 plus miles and doesn't mind hills (up or down). Depending on riding goals, this type of rider will likely feel fine following the 20 loop, or might feel as though they got a really good workout on the 51 mile loop.

Advanced
Rides several times a week and typically rides 25 plus each time they ride. Seeks hills and challenging situations. This rider will have no problem with the 51 mile loop.

The 51- Mile Loop
The 51-mile route can best be described as "rolling" with two hills in particular worth noting that are long and gradual. There are 4 water stations located at mile markers 6, 21, 35, and 46 as well as rolling SAG support on both the 20 and 51-mile loops. Major intersections will have fire police to assist with traffic. Pace will likely be anywhere from 20 mph (very aggressive - 2.5 hours to complete) to 10 mph (very casual - 5 hours to complete).

If you are still feeling as though you're on the fence and want to check out the course first-hand, feel free to download and print the course cue sheet from our website.
